"An incomparable original"

Tireless translator of Communio in Christo: Jutta Liley deceased at age 97

Blankenheim -

For almost 40 years, Jutta Liley was employed as a translator at Communio in Christo. Although translating Mother Marie Therese' mystical texts into another language is no easy task, she has translated various books by the Foundress completely into English. On 30 June, Jutta Liley, who spent the last months of her life in "Haus Effata" in Blankenheim, passed away at the age of 97.

"She was an incomparable original with her special sense of humour," emphasises Sister Lidwina: "How often did she say after the coffee break upstairs with us in the refectory: "I have to get back to work now. After all, performance is demanded of me." What Jutta Liley had so jokingly packaged in this sentence, she would also have put into practice. She had tweaked texts and invested a lot of time to achieve the best result.

The letter of condolence to the family says: "For us in the Communio in Christo, Mrs Liley was a very special gem, indeed she was part of our family. Nothing was ever too much for her when Mr Superior General or one of us asked her for help and a translation was urgently needed. We will miss her greatly, but the gratitude of having had her among us outweighs it."
