Mechernich - Superior General Jaison Thazhathil will welcome the Minister of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia, Dr Benjamin Limbach, as guest of honour at the 39th Foundation Day of the Ordo Communionis in Christo on the first Saturday of Advent, 2 December. The Minister, a student friend of the Social Work's Managing Director Norbert Arnold, will speak on the themes of the penal system and resocialisation on the theme of "Guilt and Atonement" for the Day of Remembrance.
The festive service from 10 a.m. in the parish church of St. John the Baptist will be organised by Superior General Jaison Thazhathil and numerous clergy, lay people and sisters from all over the world together with the congregation. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the church choir "St. Cäcilia" Mechernich under Erik Arndt. All are also welcome to attend the Vespers on 1 Advent at 5 pm in the house chapel.
In the invitation of the Superior General it says: "Just as the Communio founder Mother Marie Therese was completely convinced of a forgiving and unconditionally merciful God, the modern constitutional state has also turned from the idea of atonement to the resocialisation and treatment aspect. We expect an interesting lecture and the opportunity to talk with Minister Limbach."
Registration for participation in advance at info@communio.nrw or tel. (+49 2443 -98 14 823) by 22 November at the office of the Superior General.
