Jaison Thazhathil new Superior General

The 42-year-old priest was elected as the new superior of the Ordo Communionis in Christo on September 27, 2022 - His deputy is the Mechernich deacon Manfred Lang

Mechernich -

The Rev. Jaison Thazhathil (42), who has been working alongside Superior General Karl-Heinz Haus at the motherhouse of Communio in Christo in Mechernich since 2008, was elected as the new superior on September 27, 2022, in a worldwide vote among 250 members of the Ordo Communionis in Christo.

As Jürgen Fahnenstich of the chapter of the order and Norbert Arnold, the executive director of the Communio, informed Dr. Helmut Dieser, the diocesan bishop of the Aachen diocese, in their capacity as electoral board on the morning after the election, the new Superior General was unanimously confirmed, as was his deputy, Deacon Manfred Lang, with the inclusion of postal votes from several countries. There had been only one candidate for each office.

Both were ordained in 2007 - Father Jaison as priest and the married family man Manfred Lang as permanent deacon with civil vocation. Both thanked for the trust and asked for support to make the Ordo Communionis in Christo sustainable in a team together with the community, spiritual director, chapter, ordo leadership and members.
