Motivated by the work of the Mother

Communio-in-Christo Circle of Friends in Rome wants to give love and care to those in need - Mother Marie Therese as a source of inspiration

Mechernich/Rom – At the Collegio Urbano in Rome, a group of seminarians and deacons from different countries is forming a Communio in Christo Circle of Friends. A total of fourteen members, who are currently completing their studies in preparation for the priesthood, are part of the group. Seminarian Obadia Twongyeirwe from Uganda, is in his first year of theology studies and tells of being inspired by Mother Marie Therese's actions and work.

"The care of the foundress of Communio in Christo for the needy, her love and her spirituality are a source of motivation for us who are on the way to the priesthood," the theology student tells. Following this example, the members of the Circle of Friends took part in pastoral activities in old people's homes, visited the sick friars and served at Mass in the parishes in Rome, among other things, says Obadia Twongyeirwe.

Above all, he said, prayer was central to their lives as group members. About Mother Marie Therese, the priest candidate says, "She inspires us to live a life of service to the people of God, led from the heart with joy and zeal. To be people of love and care like her."
